The Department of Computer Science at MIE-SPPU Institute of Higher Education (Pune University, Qatar Campus) is dedicated to equipping students with cutting-edge knowledge and practical skills to thrive in the rapidly evolving digital era. Programs Offered

B.Sc. in Computer Science (Hons. with Research)

Duration : 4 Years

Tuition Fee: QAR 35000 Per Year

Focus on Artificial Intelligence, Data Science, Cybersecurity, Software Engineering, and Cloud Computing.
Research-based learning with opportunities to work on real-world projects.
Strong emphasis on both theoretical foundations and practical applications.

Eligibility :

Completion of 12th Grade / Higher Secondary School or equivalent.
Background in Science stream (Physics & Mathematics compulsory).
Minimum 50% aggregate marks (or equivalent GPA).
Proficiency in English (students may be required to demonstrate competency through an entrance test or interview, if applicable).

B.Sc. in Biotechnology (Hons. with Research)

Duration : 4 Years

Tuition Fee: QAR 55000 Per Year

Comprehensive study of molecular biology, genetics, microbiology, bioinformatics, and applied biotechnology.
Hands-on laboratory training and exposure to cutting-edge research.
Application-oriented learning with focus on healthcare, agriculture, and environmental sustainability.

Head of Department

Dr. Vikas Kashid

Dr. Vikas Kashid received his PhD in Theoretical Condensed Matter Physics in May 2014 from the Department of Physics, Savitribai Phule Pune University, In 2017, he received Overseas Postdoctoral Fellowship (OPDF) from Science and Engineering Research Board (SERB), Government of India, to work at Peter Grünberg Institute, Forschungszentrum, Jülich Germany. He recently worked at the Department of Physics, Savitribai Phule Pune University as SPPU postdoctoral fellow to work on lead-free perovskite materials for better efficiency. He has special interests in performing electronic structure calculations of magnetic and topological materials.

Dr. Mahendra Suryavanshi

Dr. Mahendra Suryavanshi, with 14+ years of experience, holds a Ph.D. in Computer Science from Savitribai Phule Pune University and has qualified the NET in Computer Science. His research focuses on Cloud Computing, Data Center Networking, and Algorithms. He has published extensively in Scopus-indexed journals and conferences, reviewed international research, and supervised postgraduate software projects and publications.

Assistant Professor

Dr. Vikas Kumar Malviya

Dr. Vikas Malviya, a Ph.D. holder from IIITDM Jabalpur, specializes in security and privacy in mobile applications and web technologies. He has been a Postdoctoral Fellow at Singapore Management University, focusing on Android and drone security. With teaching roles at top institutions, he has contributed to research on Android app security, NoSQL databases, and machine learning. His work includes patents and publications in IEEE/ACM conferences.

Ms. Vaishali Dhokchawle

Ms. Vaishali Dhokchawle is an experienced academician with over 10 years of teaching experience and a Master’s degree in Computer Science from Savitribai Phule Pune University, India. She has qualified the UGC-NET in Computer Science and completed a CDAC certification program. She worked as a Full Stack Developer with Wolters Kluwer and Accenture, acquiring over 3 years of industry experience in software development. Her areas of expertise include web technologies and full-stack application development.
