ADMISSION ELIGIBILITY

MIE-SPPU accepts applications from students of all nationalities and curriculum. You need to have at least have cleared Grade 12 examination to be eligible to apply. This page provides information on equivalence of Grad 12 from various curriculum/education system.

Students seeking admission into the first year of any undergraduate program at MIE-SPPU from various international curriculum can view the eligibility criteria to get admitted to Undergraduate courses.

ADMISSION REQUIREMENT

All applicants to MIE SPPU Institute of Higher Education must complete a minimum of 12 years of formal education, and their transcript results must be certified by the appropriate educational agency. The high school grade requirements mentioned in this section are minimum scores. They do not guarantee admission. They may change according to the strength of the applicant pool and the available capacity in each major.

Indian Education System

The minimum duration of the program must be at least the same as prescribed for the corresponding level of qualification in India, i.e., a minimum of 12 years of Schooling for being equated with the Senior School Certificate Examination of the CBSE/other Boards in India. In addition, the candidate must have passed the Examination equivalent to Grade 10 with a minimum of 5 (five) subjects, including English.

For B.Sc (Computer Science). Higher Secondary School Certificate (10+2) Science Stream with Mathematics or its equivalent examination

American High School Diploma /Grade Point Average (GPA) System

In the case of the American High School Diploma where the school itself awards a certificate (not by any Board/University), the candidate is eligible only if the school is accredited either by the State Department of Education in the United States or by one of the six Regional Accrediting Agencies in the US, i.e.

  • Middle States Association of Schools and Colleges

  • New England Association of Schools and Colleges

  • North Central Association of Schools and Colleges

  • North West Association of Schools and Colleges

  • Southern Association of School and Colleges

  • Western Association of Schools and Colleges

Awarded a High School Diploma in a General Studies Curriculum with a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.00 on a 4.00 scale (“C”) and satisfies the minimum high school percentage requirement during the final year of high school.

Passed at least six different subjects, including at least one Science (biology, physics, chemistry), one mathematics (algebra, trigonometry, geometry), and one English Language course during the Junior or Senior year.

 

British Secondary School System

  • A minimum of three subjects at the Advanced level.

  • As the official results for this school system will be released after MIE-SPPU has announced admission decisions, applicants may submit predicted grades in addition to official result certificates by the submission deadline. Applicants who submit predicted high school grades (pdf) will be considered for Provisional Admission.

 

International Baccalaureate (IB) System

  • Completion of the IB Diploma (full or course), with at least 3 subjects at the HL and the other 3 subjects at SL level.

  • The student should have attained a total grade point score of 24 out of 42, excluding grades for Theory of Knowledge (TOK) and Extended Essay.

EQUIVALANCE OF GRADE 12 FOR OTHER INTERNATIONAL CURRICULUM

The following is a list of +2 level qualifications and their nomenclatures recognized by MIE-SPPU subject to that the education has been pursued only on REGULAR MODE;

  1. 12 years Baccalaureate Certificate of Chad, Gabon, France and Tunisia;

  2. International Baccalaureate Diploma awarded by International Baccalaureate Organisation, Geneva, Switzerland;

  3. 12 years General Secondary Education Certificate of the Ministry of Education Bahrain, Egypt, Jordan, Kuwait, Oman, Saudi Arabia, United Arab Emirates and other Gulf countries;

  4. GCE/IGCSE/GCSE examinations of the approved British Examination Bodies, with Minimum 5 (Five) subjects in A, B, C Grades including English at ORDINARY(“O”) Level and 2/3 subjects at ADVANCED (“A”)LEVEL has been equated with +2 stage qualification. 

  5. 12 Year High School Diploma from accredited Schools of USA;

  6. Intermediate/Senior Secondary/Higher Secondary examinations of the approved Boards in Pakistan, Bangladesh, Bhutan and Nepal;

  7. 12 year Secondary Stage qualification of National Examinations Board of the Ministry of Education, Ethiopia, Sudan;

  8. 12-year Secondary Stage examination conducted by various Provinces inCanada and Australia provided that the candidate having passed Ontario Secondary School Diploma of the Ministry of Education, Ontario, should have acquired minimum 6 (Six) “U/M“(University Preparatory Courses);

  9. GCE “Ordinary and Advanced”level examination of the Department of Education, Government of Sri Lanka, Singapore, Hong Kong & Mauritius provided that candidates having passed O and A level Examinations should fulfil the same conditions as prescribed at Sr. No.iv above;

  10. 12 year STPM examination of Malaysia;

  11. 12 year Secondary Stage qualification of Indonesia, Japan, Korea, Republic of Vietnam and Yemen Arab Republic;

  12. “Abitur”examination of Germany;

  13. 12 year High School Diploma awarded by the accredited American Schools/International Schools in other countries following American System of Education subject to the condition that the High School Diploma awarded by the American Schools in USA and other parts of the world should be accredited either by the State Departments of Education OR by one of the Six Regional Accrediting Agencies in USA i.e (a) Middle States Association of Schools and Colleges; (b) New England Association of Schools and Colleges; (c) North Central Association of Schools and Colleges; (d) Northwest Association of Schools and Colleges; (e) Southern Association of Schools and Colleges; and (f) Western Association of Schools and Colleges.

  14. Pre University Certificate Examination of the Ministry of Education, Iran;

  15. 12 year Secondary School Certificate Examination of the Ministry of Education, Islamic Republic of Afghanistan;

  16. 12 Year Secondary School Certificate Examination of the Ministry of Education, Republic of Iraq;

  17. 12 Year Senior School certificate Examination of West African Examinations Council (WACE) in A, B, C Grades with minimum 5 (Five) subjects on a scale of 1-4 (A-1, B-2, B3, C-4) conducted in the countries of Nigeria etc;

  18. EXAMEN D‟ ETAT of the Ministry of Primary, Secondary & Professional Education in the Democratic Republic of Congo;

  19. 12 year Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education Examination with minimum 5 (Five) subjects in the Grades A, B, & C of the Kenya National Examinations Council, Nairobi, Kenya;

  20. Advanced Certificate of Secondary Education Examination with minimum 2 (Two) Principal Passes & 2(Two) Subsidiary Passes of the National Examinations Council of Tanzania;

  21. Uganda Advanced Certificate of Education Examination with minimum 2 (Two) Principal Passes & 2(Two) Subsidiary Passes of the Uganda Examinations Board;

  22. 12 year Certificat D‟Enseignement Secondaire Generale (D‟Humanities General) of the Ministry of National Education, Republic of Burundi;

  23. Eritrean Secondary Education Certificate of the Ministry of Education , State of Eritrea;

  24. Baccalaureat De L‟Enseignement Secondaire General ( Baccalaureat of General Secondary Education) of the Ministry of National Education, Republic of Cameroon;

  25. Baccalaureat De L‟Enseignement DU Second Degre (Baccalaureate of Secondary Education) of Republic of Chad;

  26. Higher School Certificate Examination of Department of Education, Papua New Guinea;

  27. Level III of NZQA
