Department of Education

The Department of Education at MIE-SPPU Institute of Higher Education (Pune University, Qatar Campus) is dedicated to developing competent and innovative educators equipped with the knowledge, skills, and values required for effective teaching and learning. Through a strong foundation in educational theory, teaching practices, and educational technology, the department prepares students for careers in education, training, and academic leadership while contributing to the development of a knowledge-based society in line with Qatar National Vision 2030.

Programs Offered

B.A. (Hons. with Research) in Psychology

Duration : 4 Years

Tuition Fee: QAR 29,000 Per Year

In-depth study of cognitive psychology, developmental psychology, social psychology, abnormal psychology, and counseling.
Opportunities to conduct psychological research under faculty supervision.
Focus on applied areas such as organizational behavior, mental health, and behavioral sciences.
Training in analytical and interpersonal skills essential for careers in psychology and related fields.

Eligibility :

Completion of 12th Grade / Higher Secondary School or equivalent (any stream).
Minimum 50% aggregate marks (or equivalent GPA).
Proficiency in English (students may be required to demonstrate competency through an entrance test or interview, if applicable).

Bachelor of Education (B.Ed.)

Duration : 2 Years

Tuition Fee: QAR 12,000 Per Year

Designed for graduates aspiring to build a professional career in teaching and education.
Comprehensive training in pedagogy, curriculum development, classroom management, and assessment strategies.
Emphasis on inclusive education, educational psychology, and use of technology in modern classrooms.

Eligibility :

Bachelor’s degree in Arts, Science, or Commerce from a recognized university with a minimum 50% aggregate marks.
Or a Bachelor's in Engineering / Technology with specialization in Science and Mathematics from any recognized university with at least 55 % marks (or equivalent GPA).
Proficiency in English (may be subject to interview or assessment).

Dr. Sujatha Vigneshwaran Soundrapandian

Dr. Sujatha Vigneshwaran Soundrapandian is an academician, researcher, psychologist, and teacher educator with over 11 years of experience in India and Qatar. She holds a Ph.D. in Education (Educational Psychology) and Master’s degrees in Education and Psychology. Her expertise spans educational psychology, child development, learner-centered teaching, assessment, and innovative pedagogy. She has led workshops and teacher training programs on effective teaching strategies and 21st-century learning skills, published research in reputed journals, and received the “Blooming Researcher in the Field of Education” award.

Dr. Flavia Dsouza

Dr. Flavia Dsouza is an educator, researcher and teacher educator who holds M.Sc. in Physics, Masters in Education and Ph.D. in Education from Mangalore University. She has over nine years of teaching experience across diverse curricula, including the British Curriculum, the Ministry of Education (MoE) Curriculum of UAE, and the Indian Curriculum. Her academic interests include Educational Technology, Science and Mathematics Pedagogy, Educational Research, Curriculum Development, and Teacher Education. She has presented research at various National and International Conferences, including Rome, Italy, and published research papers in International and UGC-approved Indian journals.
